The True Jesus Church has 10 articles of faith which are based on the Bible. If we do them, we will obtain eternal life. For example, getting baptised, getting our feet washed, receiving Holy Communion, keeping Sabbath Day, praying for the Holy Spirit. We do this to get eternal life. Yet underlying these 10 articles of faith are principles we can live our life of faith by.

The speaker isn’t sure how many of us stayed up last night to past midnight, waiting for the moment the clock hits 12 and we feel a surge of excitement for the new year. The speaker happened to be awake at midnight, busy doing things. And suddenly he heard ‘boom boom boom’. He thought it was thunder and that it was going to rain. Later he realised it was fireworks!

Christian living is having the word of God being applied to our daily lives. Whether it’s the way we have recreation, work, think, treat other people (e.g. how you treat your employees if you’re an employer). All these things we do must be according to the Bible.

Christian living is having the word of God applied to our lives, including the commandments of God in the Old Testament and the teachings of the Lord Jesus Christ in the New Testament. In every aspect of our life, we conduct ourselves according to the teachings of the Holy Bible; the will of God. Whether it’s our thoughts, deeds, affection in love for other people, or our passion/desires to do things. Then we will truly be disciples of the Lord.

As we draw to the end of the year, it’s a time to look back and reflect on ourselves; whether we have grown spiritually in the Lord; whether there are areas we are still lacking. This sermon will covers lessons we can learn from the actions of the Shunammite woman so that we can help the church and improve ourselves.
