Why is there a need to rebuild? There’s a need to rebuild because the thing we’re rebuilding is not in its perfect state. The speaker has good memories from his early days when the TK church was not rebuilt yet. He remembers the wall facing the front of the church in red brick colour. When you enter the church, you’ll see a brick wall. At that time, the church hall was not air-conditioned and there were only fans. On Saturday afternoons, every one would listen attentively; they were all nodding (😂).

What is man’s deadliest weapon? Perhaps you may think that in this century, the deadliest weapon is the atomic bomb. We witnessed that at the end of WWIIi, America dropped two atomic bombs and the whole city Hiroshima was destroyed and many died. Because of this, the radiation affected many. This could be the deadliest weapon of mankind; you can see it. However, there is a weapon of men that we cannot see and is more deadly than the atomic bomb; that is our tongue. Today we shall use the words of Elder James for our learning and spiral nurture.

Recently the speaker was reading a book about Christians sharing how they experienced God through their struggles; they shared their struggles and how their faith helped them to cope. He noticed a commonality: sometimes they described their situation as if they were stuck in a dark pit; they feel all alone and that they can’t crawl out; they’re at rock bottom.

holycommunion
For our members in Singapore, our Holy Communion is a monthly affair. In some places, it is held twice annually. During our baptism, we also have our Holy Communion. Holding it ever so frequently should not diminish its meaning for us. We should at each Holy Communion feel very deeply for its significance because it is returning to the most significant and meaningful story of how God, the creator, loves His people; how He came in the form of man to save His people with a sacrifice that no other would make. It tells of great forbearance over a people who are always stiff-necked and disobedient.

This sermon will discuss mourning and dancing from the book of Ruth and Esther. These are the only two books named after women. There’re many commonalities between these 2 books. But then when we read them, we must understand it’s not just talking about the history of salvation for the Jews; it is intimately linked to OUR Christian lives. We can learn from what happened in the past.
