In these two verses, Paul addresses himself as the prisoner of Jesus Christ. The Chinese translation for Eph 4:1 states that Paul was a prisoner FOR Christ. But in the original text or the English translation, Paul says he’s a prisoner OF Christ.

Exo 14 is a monumental chapter in the Bible because it describes the actual departure of Israel out of Egypt. It also describes the very first challenge Israel faced immediately upon departure (i.e. crossing of the Red Sea). It marked the end of decades of pain; a start of a brand new life.

In today’s fast paced society, it seems like being stressed and having things to worry about is a norm. If we don’t have something to worry about, it seems like something is amiss. If a student has no exams or is relaxing at home, the parents worry “why are you so free? Don’t you have homework?” Same for at the workplace. If our bosses see we have free time or have long lunches, they’d think something is amiss. There’re high stress levels in our society. It’s not just in Singapore but in many Asian countries; we work long hours.

Thank God for guiding us through 2018. Time passes really quickly; the year begins again. Actually time hasn’t moved faster or slower; it has not changed ever. It is us who has changed.
